This was an excellent book with an excellent message; follow your dreams. Santiago is a shepard who meets a powerful king in a small Spanish town. The king tells him to search for his Personal Legend, which sets Santiago on a epic journey through the African desert. Along the way, he learns many things about listening to his heart and the Soul of the World. Very well written, with a simple but compelling storyline. Anyone looking for a good summer book should read The Alchemist. (-BAM! LOST review good for one BOC pass.)

This book should be read. And loved. It is dreamlike, and wonderful, and tells a story that anyone can, and should, follow. It believes in omens, in signs, and teaches one how to read omens- which are truly messages of the heart. It is the journey of a man that is much more than an empirical journey- and it shows, too, that the journey is more important than the destination. This is a true book. It tries to help us find the answer to how we should live, and certainly strikes gold in that area. Read it!! (Great review!!! Good for BOC pass. ~ Anna)
