Benjamin Lebert as himself brings a much desired viewpoint. He both speaks from a German youth perspective, and from a disabled youth perspective. To me it is always interesting to hear the words of those my age but across the world. To hear what's on their mind and what concerns them, and to often be comforted that it is quite similar to my thoughts and my same "why?"'s.
However the story did not feel complete to me, and many of the discussions and characters not fully developed and thought through. I did think the reading was easy, but nothing exciting.
Some of the more graphic scenes were adequate in explaining behavior among some teens around the world.
I do recommend reading this book, especially if you lack books with a view point that is unfamiliar. |
