When Ken’s best friend is killed in a plane crash, the fact of death claws at him. He makes the decision he won’t die, ever. When he visits Cheri Buttercup, a woman who claims she can make him immortal for the unreasonable price of $50 dollars, he doesn't heed her warning of the consequences that will occur. Cheri’s claim to make him immortal is true, and now he can’t die. But the consequences he ignored are starting to take their toll.
At night he dreams, and what he dreams actually happens. He now is a murderer, and has to get his soul back in order to become mortal again, and to stop the weird dreams.
Sleators’s "The Boy Who Couldn’t Die" will whisk you away into a book that will make your heart beat faster and keep your hands busy turning the pages. "The Boy Who Couldn’t Die" is one of those books everyone should read, and everyone should experience. (Nice reveiw. Good for a BOC pass.) |
