Tough topics: mild racism valiance death
For Adam who lives near Honolulu in Hawaii. His dad is in the navy. Adam has never gone to a school with kids whose dads who are not in the navy. The first day Adam went into school he made a friend they really hit it off. They set up a date where they can go fishing well on that traitorous Saturday. Adam saw a fleet of Japanese fighter planes fly over head. Then Adam saw them fly right to his dads ship the Arizona. Then the fleet of fighter plains dropped booms and blew the ship out of the water! My favorite part is when Adams friend was riding next to Adam and Adam fell in a hole then racked his bike. Then his friend helped Adam by taking the bike to his dad and fixing it. My least favorite part is when Adam saw his friends bedroom his friend was poor he lived in a shack with 1 bed and 1 picture on the wall.
I recommend this book to white teen boys because the book tells about a boy’s father that is at war. Also it has Spence and mild racism and death.
